Happy New Year!  Maddie and I celebrated by playing at the beach with her pal Cassie.  A beautiful first day of 2007 up the North beach at South Padre.  Since Maddie spent the night in the bath tub terrorized by drunks shooting fireworks until 3am I thought she deserved a play day to make up for it.  Then all afternoon and half the evening there were 5 to 10 dolphins at times playing off my docks in the Yacht Basin.  You can hear the fish get active, and then you hear the dolphins breathing as they knife through the quiet water.  Awesome to watch the groups herd mullet into the basin and see them playfully feed.  It's hard to get a good close picture of them unfortunately.  I need to work on my technique.  It really has been a fantastic day!  I never had dolphins in my backyard in Houston.
