Entry for January 26, 2009 on what John's up to......
Ever since the first part of last December I've been with the Spree doing sonar surveys of pipelines starting in Morgan City, LA. We're working for Terrasond as a contractor to Williams Pipelines. Most of the systems we're surveying are damage as a result of Hurricane Ike or even older storms like Rita and Katrina. The first area was damaged by the jackup rig Pride Wyoming pictured above before and after the storm (Ike). It's been fun and interesting, but it's some real hard core boat driving for us Spree drivers. We'll be working our way doing pipelines from here all the way back up the coast to Freeport Texas. Although the Spree will resume sport diving operations in April, another boat (Gladys D) will take our place, and survey all the way to Corpus Christi, TX. J
